A Pastor’s Shameful Stance on Gay ‘Marriage’

Reverend Oliver White of Grace Community United Church of Christ in St. Paul Minnesota came out in favor of ‘gay marriage’ recently and two-thirds of the congregation left. You can read the article here: Stance on Gay Marriage May Cost Reverend His Church

If the Reverend False Teacher White had read the Bible carefully he would have honored God’s Word instead of cursing it. In cursing God’s word he has added the curses in Scripture to himself. The people leaving his church was a sign to him from the LORD that he is straying off the path of righteousness. When God’s people heard the lie that gay ‘marriage’ is legitimate they stood up and walked out. (Maybe they should have stayed and made White leave)

However, White did not repent of his stance instead he blamed those who followed God out the doors of the church by saying, “I think people are scared — scared of change, and what has been in the closet is finally coming out, and too many people are not willing to accept it.” The problem is not that people are scared of change they are not willing to change God’s Word like Mr. White. He proved that he believes that God’s Word should be changed when he stated the following:

“It’s time for our society to do as Rodney King did and say, ‘Can’t we all get along?’ That should be the 11th commandment as far as I’m concerned.”

Now this could have been a tounge-in-cheek statement, and he might not believe we should go in and change what is written in the Bible. Though in stating those words he called for heaven’s judgment against him. He proposed adding an 11th Commandment. This does not honor God even if it is said in jest. When we honor God’s Word we learn to honor one another. He indicated that there is no honor in the 10 commandments and so they are not quite complete. In doing this (even if it was a joke) he de-valued God’s Word and he is in reality destroying the Word of God.

Not only that, the number eleven is an indication of destruction and judgement. Ten is seen as a number of perfect instruction. So by suggesting an eleventh commandment he is suggesting that God’s Word be destroyed. Here are some verses that warn against doing this type of thing:

“Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, lest he rebuke you and you be found a liar.” -Proverbs 30:5-6

When you suggest an addition to God’s word you are calling for a rebuke from Him.

“I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.” -Revelation 22:18-19

John says this about the Revelation of Jesus but it also applies to all of God’s Word. You are adding plagues of destruction to your life when you add to God’s Word. So pray for Mr. White that he would repent of his words so that God will not have to rebuke him. The Lord in fact cares very much for Mr. White, or the article would not be getting so much attention. With this much attention God is calling many of those who are faithful to His Word to enourage Mr. White to return to the truth as revealed by God.
